Creating HTML deployment emails

We often get asked how you can make survey invites look better, and how to hide the long survey link behind a simple message like 'Take Survey'. This can be done using some simple HTML - the language that controls the layout of web pages. In the text template area, in Clicktools, where you create emails for deploying surveys you can code HTML directly into the edit area.

Take the following text based email template:

Dear ${firstname},

We are constantly striving to improve the service we provide to you. To help us, we need your feedback. We would be grateful if you could answer a couple of questions about how well we responded to your case using the following link:

Please give us your feedback

Regards
VP Customer Support

In HTML, this is written as:

The HTML used is as follows:

Try copying the HTML version and pasting into a new text template in Clicktools (download the code here: http://www.clicktools.com/documents/html_code.doc) to see what it does. Now view the template to see the link hidden behind the 'Please give us your feedback, text.

If you want more help with HTML, there's a great website here: http://www.w3schools.com/.

HTML is much richer than what we have provided here and if you want something more sophisticated and don't have the resource or expertise to write html yourself, we can build a custom html email for you. For further information and costing please contact sales@clicktools.com.
